Telling stories with the butterfly… 🦋
These two pieces started as one two-sided thing that became two one-sided things. A very special friend and I picked it up from a restaurant that had thrown it out. I’d had it stored in my “art house” for almost a year, and then…
…
As Imago reflects, she remembers all the former versions of herself and judges not one of them. She surrenders to the truth that all her selves are the variety of God’s imagination-for His delight, which is ours too- in which there is no imperfection. She understands both the pain and beauty of letting go. She too finally understands the pain and beauty of never holding on. She is aware, not because of teaching, but because she hears, trust, and clearly understands the voice of God as she falls asleep into every phase of herself. As she awakens, she remains faithful to herself as she experiences the egg, worm, larvae, and finally the winged one. Now able to soar all the places God had spoken of early on and knowing she is free. Metamorphosis is the story of every story. The unknowing at some point know, and then surrender to the sacrifice of themselves only to be resurrected, the same, but new!
These paintings were completely inspired from within the feelings of pain and grief translated by a knowing and belief felt from within the surrender required of love; that all things are one thing, and there is no thing outside of the imagination of God.
