The Bell Rock

May we all know and experience ourselves as that which we are, love.

(Shae and I collaborated on a special “Vortex” experience, including pix that we will be sharing soon. Here’s a sneak peek.)

After a whim and some magical guidance my daughter led me on a journey of unconditionally needed respite and healing.

We journeyed the Texas highways under the dark, star filled skies of New Mexico to the towering mountains of Arizona.

We drove straight through, only stopping for gas and leg stretching. As I drove I noticed how Shae resembled former versions of herself that always occupied the back seat in innocent slumber as the roads markers counted up and down each mile passed and as time magically shifted backwards.

During our time in and out of the car on our voyage to Arizona I felt myself feeling all of my feelings in the most intense ways.  I experienced a spectrum of emotions and behaviors including laughter, tears, anger, pain, joy, peace, discomfort, and so much more all intertwined and overlapping in effect.

We spent the better part of our first day unwinding from the stiffness of the ride, the elevation and time shifts our bodies felt in this very special place.

The next two days were spent with our feet hitting the unpaved red rock that had formed a path to itself 15 million years ago, called the Bell Rock Butte, located in Sedona, AZ.

We saw so many “supernatural “ things and people in this natural place. I began to doubt what was “real” and all that I knew to be real.

We encountered many people from various regions of the earth who had traveled here from their lives to feel the source of life as presented by God through nature/ creation.

The “energy” of twisted juniper trees was mesmerizing as we followed curiosity upward to understanding how Great Thou Art.

I understood my daughter to be my anchor to this reality as I felt I could have easily detached from this present form of myself and hid away in the beauty of what my imagination declared was home.

This piece started as a desire to create a “3-D” visual landscape presentation.

This piece evolved into a visual interpretation of the beautiful Bell Rock, representing both the masculine and feminine energies of all things. I decided to leave the waterfall as part of the story as water is life.

The vegetation in this piece are also the symbolism of the magically twisted trees and mirroring energies that live on and with the red rocks of Sedona.

Under the light of the moon, love takes form and this is where we find truth, that all things are one thing. Behold…the beauty of The Bell…
